Katrafay, which scientific name is Cedrelopsis Grevei grows as a bushlike tree in the dry bioclimate of the West and South of Madagascar. Locals traditionally use Katrafay because of its many therapeutical properties. Its stem bark is mainly used to make a hot drink as remedy against muscular fatigue, persistent catahrr, hypertension and fever. Essential oil is made from the leaves and is mainly used to help in inflammatory skin disease such as eczema, varicose veins, tired legs, muscular pain and tendinits.
PRODUCTION
The extraction of this essential oil is by steam distillation. It ios rich in sesquiterpenes and its fragrance is warm, woody and slightly spicy.
This essential oil has been produced to the highest ethical and environmental standards.
PROPERTIES
Katrafay has stimulating properties, therefore it can be used in daily life. It can be diluated in a carrier oil or a lotion and can be used to ease painful joints and muscles but on skin as well for a rejuvenating effect.
TIPS FOR USE
- This is an excellent oil to diluite in a carrier oil with a proportion of 1%. Apply it on painful muscles, on the skin or for a tonifying body massage
- Use few drops in a personal inhaler
- Use few drops in a hot bath for a tonifying effect
